I can’t wait for the day that I stop getting nervous about whether or not someone will like my cupcakes. They are, after all, incredible. And there have only been a couple total flops since I started making them. But when people are paying for them I start getting a little worried. Like yesterday with the ones I made for my boss. I knew they were awesome – I actually ate half of one to make sure. But the real prize came yesterday when he stopped me as I was walking back to my desk because he’d just eaten one.
“That was great! Really, really good!” I could tell by the look in his eyes that he meant it and I was relieved. This is what I live for.
“Awesome. I’m so glad you liked them. I hope your kids like them!”
“Oh they will!” I can’t wait to hear today that they did.
Yesterday I was in the elevator with 2 of the senior VPs in my company and one asked me if I had any cupcakes. The other lit up. “I’ve heard about these famous cupcakes! So you’re the baker?”
“I am, and you have to try some. They’re delicious!” Shameless promotion would have started had I had cards on me, but I didn’t.
I took some to my Starbucks baristas yesterday, and they all raved, too. The bavarian cream will definitely be making the permanent list. They are just that good. And sad that I didn’t get pics of those little gems. They deserve to be shown off!
I’m sitting here thinking of some cupcakes for tailgating. I’m going to check with my crew – but I’m thinking of some with a football theme and if we could tie them into the Atlanta Falcons, that would be awesome.
Problem is, I don’t like colored icings so I’ll probably just get some regla ones, LOL. September 13 or September 20…one of those games.
