lil miss

Old Dude was late and I gave him a little attitude for it. I understand a few minutes here and there – this is Atlanta and traffic can suck. But he was late last Friday, too, and I didn’t want him thinking it would be ok to continue. It isn’t. And he got the point quickly, so I dropped the mini-attitude and we drove off to the Mexican place to enjoy another night together.

And enjoy it we both thoroughly did! The conversation was wonderful, as usual, the food was fabulous. I had no intention of drinking, but when I ordered water he side-eyed me, laughed and said “Barista!?” and I succumbed to the pressure.

I loved the way the old lady in the booth next to us stared at us like she’d never seen a mixed couple before. That’s not something I experience a lot – even here in the south – so I’m not hypersensitive to it by any means. In fact, I don’t care at all and find it to be amusing on the rare occasion that it happens. But this woman seriously stared at us the entire time she was there. I guess it could have been because we were having so much fun and there was a ridiculous amount of good energy coming from our table.

It was a fabulous night – again – and I’m seriously looking forward to Saturday night with him. Now I’m off to join the gym by my house.

Oooh, I can’t stand tardiness. I think the stare was more due to the fun energy. When my girls and I are out having fun, we get a lot of stares. I like to think it’s not because we’re laughing so loud, but because the stare-ers are trying to figure out how they can have as much fun as we do, LOL.

But then again, it could be because she’s old and can’t get with the mixed couple thing…

True and there have been no shortage of stares when we’re together because we are having that much fun. So I’m gonna agree with you on the positive…

Huh, I had pictured Old Dude as white for some reason.

In any case, that lady should have stopped wasting her time staring and enjoyed her own dinner instead.

Tardiness is a big no-no for me as well. Good thing you nipped it in the bud!

@Maureen I pictured him as white too! LOL

It’s wonderful that you are still having a great time with Old Dude. Any plans to try another venue?
