this and that part 5237

I can’t stand how rude OUM is to people on the phone.  It makes my skin crawl.  One of these times I’m going to tell him to chill the fuck out.  I may or may not say fuck.

Last night I answered a random phone call (highly unusual for me, since I never answer my phone) and it was an order for 10 dozen cupcakes.  But not just 10 dozen – 10 dozen in 10 different flavors.  Jesiis.  I was happy about it, of course, but I’m doing a wedding and a birthday party Saturday, so this is A LOT.

Previously mentioned new customer asked for a discount because of the volume.  I gave her a tiny discount – essentially giving her the 3 dozen cupcakes she’d ordered with liquor for the price of standard cupcakes.  After I agreed to this she told me that Crappy Cupcakes agreed to do them for $2.50 each like she was trying to get me to lower my prices even more.  “Oh yeah?” I said.  “I guess I should raise my prices, then, because I just agreed to do them for $2.08 each.”

It’s so hard to get motivated to run when it’s hot as hades outside.  I’m trying, though.  I’m trying.

It’s also hard to listen to audio books at work.  I thought this would serve as an adequate distraction and keep my mind busy yet free from OUM, but the problem is I can’t concentrate on work when I’m listening to the book.  Damn.

The dude who called me a crazy cat lady asked me if I had cats called last night.  I didn’t answer and he left a message.  I kinda liked his voice.

I love audiobooks but I can’t listen at work. If I pay attention to work – I miss whole portions of the story. If I listen to the story, I’m too distracted to work. Audiobook listening must require a different part of the brain than listening to regular music!

It’s driving me crazy! I want so badly to listen and be distracted, but then I get involved in something and realize I missed a whole frickin chapter!
